Low Fat Diet, Non Fat Diet

Even now in the year 2007 there are debates going on as to which type of weight loss program is better, a low fat diet or a non fat diet. Among those with a lack of nutritional knowledge the best type of weight loss program continues to be a non fat diet and not a low fat diet. Whereas among those who do not have a lack of nutritional knowledge the best type of weight loss program continues to be a low fat diet and not a non fat diet.

A low fat diet (that is healthy of course) is superior to a non fat diet for many reasons. First of all a typical low fat diet is much lower in carbohydrates than a typical non fat diet. This is based on the fact that the large percentage of the popular non fat diet food items being sold in grocery stores would taste awful without replacing the removed fat with carbohydrates (sugars) as compared to low fat diet food items which tend to be natural and healthy.

A low fat diet that is natural and healthy means that dieters would consume high quality protein sources along with fruits and vegetable whereas non fat diet foods that are most commonly consumed by dieters who do not know any better are chips, desserts, pastries, frozen yogurt, etc. Needless to say, a non fat diet consisting of junk foods with the fat removed cannot and do not compare to a low fat diet that is healthy. Although if done improperly it is also possible for a low fat diet to be just as fattening as a non fat diet.

The fact of the matter is that almost 100% of dieters whether they are following a low fat diet or a non fat diet make adjustments to suit their needs and desires and these adjustments almost always ruin any chances of losing weight. In this case it would be foolish to say that a low fat diet is better than a non fat diet as both would be equally bad. If your goal is to lose weight not only fast but effectively it would be recommended not to use either a low fat diet or a non fat diet but simply change your eating habits for the better by eating high quality protein sources while limiting carbohydrates to a low to moderate amount of fruits and vegetables.
